The head of the stand slides in from the side and locks in place with a magnet, to make it easy to add and remove models from the stand. The head comes pre-installed with press-fit LEGO bricks for connection to the model.
This stand is suitable for most play-scale ships, though caution is always advised when choosing the attachment point.
